Spices for Life Book Signing to Benefit LDEI Hawaii

Dame Ka‘iulani Cowell has just published her first cookbook, Spices for Life: Delicious, Quick and Easy Recipes Made with Organic Ka‘iulani Spices (Legacy Isle Publishing, 2017). This collection of 60-plus recipes has been a dream of Kai’s for a long time, and they are simple, healthy, tasty, and of course all incorporate her eponymous line of Ka‘iulani Spices. Kai has spent a decade fine-tuning the recipes included in this book, and in this last stretch to put it all together had help from Dames Kathi Saks and Dawn Sakamoto Paiva (who has a day job with the local book publishing company Watermark Publishing and its subsidiary imprint, Legacy Isle Publishing.)

You can buy the book from her website, or from the publisher’s site (either is a good option, as the money all stays here in the local economy and supports local business), but if you REALLY want to do some good, come to Kai’s book signing on Saturday, November 4, 11am to noon, at Barnes & Noble, Ala Moana. And tell all your friends.

Kai’s book signing on Nov. 4 will help benefit LDEI Hawaii.

A portion of sales that day, including all other books, magazines and most other things in the store (there are some exceptions, like gift cards, memberships and some electronics, but even coffee counts!), will go to LDEI Hawaii. All you need to do is present this voucher, or just tell the sales cashier that you want to support the LDEI Hawaii book fair for Kai Cowell. They’ll honor the voucher all day long, so now’s the time to go shopping for all those cookbooks you’ve been wanting and get a jump start on all your holiday gift-buying! You’re doing it for a good cause! (Neighbor Island Dames: You can help too! Shop online using the code in the voucher below — click the image to enlarge it— between 11/4 and 11/9 and your purchases will be credited to us, too.)
