Ho‘omau Maker: Saltwater Buddha

LDEI Hawaii Note: Saltwater Buddha owner Sheri Seto lost her home and her business in the Maui fires. We are so pleased to be able to support her business as she reopens.

On Tuesday 8/08 when I awoke to the sound of strong gusts of wind + no power, I never imagined (along with so many others) that this would be our family’s last day in our Wahikuli home in our beloved town of Lahaina.

With not much time to evacuate, we grabbed important paperwork + left with ‘Ulu kitty + the clothes on our back. My Son was fishing earlier in the day + we got separated without service, but were able to find each other later that night 🙏🏽 Our family is all accounted for + safe. Our home is down to ash, with all of my late Husband’s memories + all of our soap 🧼 supplies/inventory.

What has brought me to my knees 😭 is the outpouring of #aloha from everywhere for our tight knit community. Please know, it is deeply felt.
